Solingen, known worldwide for its excellent cutlery, has much more to offer than just sharp knives. With the Müngstner Bridge, for example, the highest railway bridge in Germany, the medieval Burg Castle with its jousting games or selected museums such as the German Blade Museum, Industrial Museum or Museum Baden.
In addition, there are beautiful hiking trails along the Wupper river, past the old Schleiferkotten, and varied mountain bike trails.
The picturesque market square of Solingen-Gräfrath, surrounded by beautiful half-timbered houses, cafes and restaurants, invites you to linger and relax. From here you are in about 10 minutes in Wuppertal at the suspension railway terminus, and with this unique means of transport you can ‘float’ across Wuppertal.
